Who orders the execution in the USA?

In the United States, death sentences are imposed by courts after a jury or judge finds a defendant guilty of one of the most serious crimes. The final order carrying out an execution is usually signed by the governors of each state or the President of the United States (for federal crimes). In some states, a pardon commission has a say.

An example is Florida, where executions are carried out by lethal injection. The mixture used usually consists of three active ingredients: a sedative (such as midazolam) that renders the condemned unconscious, a muscle relaxant (such as vecuronium bromide) that paralyzes the respiratory muscles, and potassium chloride that stops the heart. However, there are considerable difficulties in obtaining these preparations. Many pharmaceutical companies refuse to supply them for ethical reasons, forcing some states to use alternative, often controversial, substances or other methods of execution.

But who can really decide about life and death? In our opinion, there is only one who has this right - and that is God. No one should be allowed to decide about another's life.
